HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (WXYZ) — A metro Detroit group is working to raise money in an effort to protect women in Hamtramck against sexual assault, abduction and more.
They previously raised enough money to provide pepper spray to 100 women in an effort to give them a sense of safety while in their communities.
The group wants to raise $3,000 to buy at least 100 cans again. They organizers plan to distribute can of pepper spray at shops, bars and other places in Hamtramck.
“We all hope one day we’ll live in a world where every woman can walk the communities they live in at any time without fearing for their well being. For now, the best we can do is be prepared.” according to the group.
